The Tide is High But We're Holding On...

Our trip to Nantasket today went "swimmingly" in spite of the fact that high tide forced us off the beach a bit earlier than we would have liked. That said, it was gorgeous and sunny  (as most of the days this summer have been) and we spent our time playing and enjoying each other as much as possible, knowing that our time together is coming to a speedy conclusion. There is a saying that "the days are long but the years are short." How true that has been of our season; we packed each day full and went home spent and happy, feeling like camp would never end. But end it has, and we are the better for the adventures we've shared together. As Ursula LeGuin wrote in the Left Hand of Darkness: It is good to have an end to journey towards, but it is the journey that matters in the end. Thank you to our campers and staff and the CADC families for a truly memorable experience that has left us breathless, joyful, and a bit more learned. Though we'll post to the blog one last time tomorrow with pictures of our field day and carnival, it is time to say good-bye...to bid you "adieu"...to wish you the best as you travel on with your life. Thank you for flying with CADC. We know you have a lot of camps to choose from, and it's been our privilege to serve you.
